Hardbeatnews, PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Mon. May 22, 2006: A Guyanese teen is set to reappear in Port-of-Spain First Court Magistrate today, charged with trying to bribe a police officer to release two men in custody.

Authorities charge that Alicia Brown, 18, who migrated to Trinidad from Guyana and now lives in Orchard Gardens, Chaguanas, allegedly offered TT$10,000 to Constable Patrick Gangoo on May 17 to release Ricardo Brown, her husband and Rawle Fiedtkou, according to Trinidad media reports. On May 18 she allegedly gave TT$8,000 to Gangoo but was later nabbed during a sting operation outside a Port-of-Spain bank.

Brown is charged with corruptly offering and giving money to a police officer. –
