Guyana Family Fun Day 2006

Guyana Family Fun Day 2006

Dear Fellow Guyanese & Friends,

June 3rd, 2006 will mark another significant year for the hosting of the 9th Annual Guyana Family Fun Day. What makes this year's event even more important is the fact that the Guyanese American Ambassadors Association Inc. will be using this opportunity as one of the numerous events to celebrate Guyana's 40th Independence Anniversary.

The United States National Parks Service has issued a permit to stage the event at the Floyd Bennett Field, Gateway Recreational Area, Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is working with the organizers to ensure that every safety precaution is in place.

The Guyana Family Fun Day has become a unique opportunity for all Guyanese and the wider Caribbean community based in New York and afar to come together and experience the rich cultural and ethnic diversity of Guyana while enjoying great food, fun games and entertainment. It also provides an opportunity for persons to catch up with long lost relatives and friends.

An exciting day of great entertainment including carnival style rides, clowns and face painting for children, along with live musical entertainment, dancing competitions, and sports have been planned.

An admission fee of $10 for adults, children under 12 years FREE and $5 for parking is being charged to offset the cost of the permit issued by the National Parks Service, Security and Sanitation.
