The Guyana Diaspora Competitive Conference
Dear Colleagues,

This year's conference at the Guyana Festival - The Guyana Diaspora Competitive Conference - focuses on forging a new thinking on the Diaspora. In addition to providing information on new policies and programs aimed at boosting investments and trade with Guyana, the conference also speaks to the broader issues of the relationship between the Diaspora and Guyana.
It is no secret that there are many frustrating issues that arise when dealing with various Ministries, agencies, organizations in Guyana (both in the private and public sectors) and some, in Guyana, may also point to some similar issues experienced with Diaspora organizations. This conference seeks to map-out a strategy to dialogue on those issues, whether private or public sector, with the view to creating a more harmonious relationship and approach. The planners intended for this conference to be the founding of a new relationship between Guyana and its Diaspora communities. Some of the input from this conference is expected to find its way into a new policy document that will guide the implementers on the way forward.

That Toronto has been selected for such an unprecedented undertaking speaks to the quality of leadership that emanates from this community. You have demonstrated solid leadership for many, many years. It is time to make your voices heard in a way that will matter! Join us and be a part of this exciting discussion and dialogue! The itinerary is set out below, and the attached invitation gives more information about the speakers. Danny Doobay Hon. Consul
