Waddell murder
- Hinds still in custody

Police on Wednesday evening took into custody the reputed wife of Shawn Hinds who is presently in detention for questioning over the execution of talk show host, Ronald Waddell.

Attorney-at-law, Vic Puran who is representing Hinds confirmed to Stabroek News yesterday that Hinds was still in custody up to press time. Puran said the police have not given him any indication as to how soon they would release Hinds. Puran said his client has since given a statement to the police. He said ranks also arrested the accused's reputed wife on Wednesday afternoon.

Puran said there is also no explanation as to why the woman was being held. He however suspected that it would have to do with Hinds' statement.

Despite holding a number of persons, more than two weeks on the police seem not to have any clear lead on those responsible for Waddell's murder.

Hinds has told the police that he was home with his girlfriend at the time of Waddell's execution. Police are also holding a relative of murdered hit-man, Axel Williams. Hinds was on Wednesday detained by the police, when he turned himself in accompanied by Puran. Puran said that he has asked the police to take whatever time they need to investigate his client. He said Hinds wanted to leave the lock-ups with the burden of being implicated in Waddell's murder off his back. Police said other than his suspected involvement in Waddell's murder Hinds is being questioned in relation to a car which has a false number plate.

However, Puran said, the car in question is no longer owned by Hinds. He said Hinds sold the vehicle several years ago. Police on Saturday went to Hinds' D'Urban Street home in search of him and seized the vehicle.
